Tamer Kıran is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Türkiye Chamber of Shipping.

He is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kıran Holding, a family company operaing in the field of ship owner and shipyard affairs, and which he joined in in 1990.

Tamer Kıran was elected 8th Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Türkiye Chamber of Shipping in 2018. Along with this assignment, he is also Vice President of the Board of Directors in the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye.

Apart from these assignments, he is also;

• Chairman of the Türkiye Maritime Education Foundation (TÜDEV)
• Chairman of the Board of Trustees in Piri Reis University,
• Board Member of the Türkiye Shipowners Employers’ Union,
• Board Member of the Türkiye Marine Environment Protection Association (TURMEPA)

Tamer was born in Istanbul in 1969. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from Faculty of Economics of Anadolu University and his Diploma in Maritime Management from London City College.
